About Therapy

Chances are, you’re not reading this page because you are satisfied with how life is turning out.

Each attempt to change, ends in more disappointment, broken promises, and the ever-present guilt and shame. This cycle can become a self-fulfilling prophecy, reinforcing the lies that we sometimes tell ourselves.

“I knew I couldn’t do it”
“I always mess up”
“I’ll never change”
“I’m a horrible person”

Don’t believe the lies.

Every person deserves to break free from what is holding them back – find a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives, allowing them to be the person they want to be.

Why go to therapy?

Excellent question! Just the thought of engaging in therapy can be overwhelming – it’s a big step, especially if someone has told you to just “suck it up” or “work harder.”

And the old societal notion of pulling yourself up by your own boot straps can sometimes work, for a little while.

Many years of deeply engrained behaviors and thought patterns have brought you to the way your life is currently functioning. Sometimes, it takes more than just clichés to adjust your course.

It’s time to unwind!

By looking at your past experiences, messages you received, and stories you’ve been telling yourself, we can begin to understand why you’ve held onto the unhealthy patterns for so long.

You’re not alone.

I’ll be with you every step of the way. I take pride in my ability to connect with people. No matter where you are, you can feel heard and understood – but not judged.

Once we’ve developed our relationship, we can then identify and magnify each person’s multitude of strengths to allow you to make positive transformations.

Begin the journey today. It’s not always easy, straightforward, or pretty – but it is absolutely possible.

Call or email today, and let’s get started.

About Me

Years of schooling, training, and my own life experiences have shown me the importance of focusing on my emotional and mental well-being, as well as my physical, social, and spiritual well-being. When I make sure that all those parts are in balance, I can live a more grounded and connected life.

And I want that for you, too.

To fully address mental health and well-being, we have to consider the “whole you.” We have to examine all of those areas of your life, in your environment.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Addiction Studies at William Jessup University. I then earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California.

I’ve spent the last few years working at a local non-profit providing varying levels of support for people struggling with Substance Use Disorder, varying mental health disorders, and those who have been involved in the criminal justice system.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and young son – enjoying the natural beauty that we have access to in Santa Cruz County.
